Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 7, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what technical, analytics, contact, public message, and advertising data needgetsms.com (“NeedGetSMS”, “we”) may process when you visit the website, and what choices you have. It describes actual processing — we do not claim that no data is collected.

1. Information we process

  • Technical data: IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, language, referring page, and server logs. This is processed to operate and secure the service.
  • Cookies and local storage: we use essential storage (for example, to remember your cookie choice and language) and, where enabled, analytics or advertising identifiers. See the Cookie Policy.
  • Contact and abuse-report data: the content you submit through the contact or abuse-report forms (name, email if provided, message). Do not submit passwords, payment data, or authentication codes.
  • Public SMS message content: messages received by shared numbers are third-party content shown in public inboxes. They are filtered and redacted before display (see section 5) and are retained for a short period only.

2. How we use information

We use the data above to operate and protect the service, respond to your requests, moderate and remove abusive content, comply with legal obligations, and — only where enabled and disclosed — to measure traffic and serve and measure advertising.

3. Analytics and advertising providers

We may use third-party analytics providers (such as Google Analytics) to understand traffic patterns, and advertising providers (such as Google AdSense) to display and measure ads. These providers may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or similar technologies.

Google advertising disclosure

Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or similar technologies to serve and measure advertising on this website. If Google advertising is enabled, Google and its partners may use information about visits to this and other websites to provide and measure ads, subject to applicable settings and consent requirements.

Learn how Google uses information from partner sites: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/

You can control personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings and opt out of many third-party cookies via the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page or Your Online Choices (EEA/UK).

Note: Google advertising is not currently enabled on this site. This disclosure describes what applies if and when it is enabled.

4. Public SMS content and redaction

Shared numbers receive messages intended for whoever requested verification with that number. To reduce risk to third parties we treat every message as untrusted third-party content and automatically:

  • render messages as plain text only (no raw HTML);
  • suppress messages from banking, payment, crypto, financial, government, healthcare, identity, password-reset, and account-recovery services entirely;
  • redact e-mail addresses, phone numbers, payment and card details, passwords, and links in otherwise-allowed messages;
  • display verification codes from ordinary, non-sensitive services (such as chat and social apps) so that the service remains usable for its intended purpose;
  • provide a reporting mechanism so anyone can flag exposed personal data.

5. Data retention

  • Public inbox messages: displayed for up to 24 hours, then discarded from our application cache. We do not build searchable archives of old messages.
  • Contact-form submissions: retained for up to 12 months so we can follow up and handle repeat issues, then deleted.
  • Abuse reports: retained for up to 12 months for review, safety, and legal-request purposes, then deleted.
  • Server logs: retained for a short operational period (typically no more than 30 days) unless needed for security investigations.

6. Hosting, CDN, and email providers

The website is hosted and delivered through infrastructure providers (such as Vercel and Supabase) that may process technical data as part of providing those services. Contact and abuse-report form submissions are sent through the Web3Forms API (api.web3forms.com), which delivers them by email to our inbox. Each of these providers acts under its own terms and privacy policy.

7. Legal requests and fraud prevention

We may preserve or disclose data where required by applicable law, court order, or to investigate fraud, abuse, or threats to the service or its users.

8. International transfers

Our hosting and third-party providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) are used by those providers.

9. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including the EEA, UK, and Switzerland), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. You may also withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

10. Children

The service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Requests and contact

To exercise your rights or ask a privacy question (including deletion requests), email contact@needgetsms.com or use the contact page (choose “Privacy request”). We aim to respond within 30 days.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect actual changes in our practices. The “last updated” date at the top shows the latest revision. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
